Like the Ocean

“Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim”
At times I’m speechless, thought I would have more time, more tomorrows, more memories.
At times I’m smiling thinking of the memories I was able to make, the smilies I was able to see, the chances I was able to have.
At times I feel devastated, thinking I didn’t get a goodbye, a warning. Thinking I’m going to wake up tomorrow and this will all just have been bad dream. But each new day comes and the bad dream doesn’t end.
At times I’m comforted knowing that you’re with God, just knowing you’re in a better place.
At times I’m overwhelmed, there’s something missing.
But forever I’m blessed, because you gave me sisters who show me the parts of you I’ve missed most.
