What I Would Give to Hear You Laugh Again

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Every time i think of you, I just remember your huge smile. I know I got that from you.

I was always a daddy’s girl. Looking to cherish any moments that we could afford to spend together. I remember the first time we visited Daddy in Nigeria, I was so excited to follow him to the office everyday and drive around with him while he ran errands. My mom and sister went to visit family in Benin, but I insisted that I stay with my dad, so we could share more laughing moments together. Now that you’re gone, I think of all the things I could’ve said, that I should’ve said, and if things were different I would’ve said. But the only thing I want to say is that I love you. Eternally grateful for every experience that we have shared together. Blessed to have been allowed to hear your laughter, see you enjoy life and have you as my father. Daddy, I love you. I just want to be able to follow you to your friends office one more time, just to stand by your side and watch you talk to your friends. What I would give to hear you laugh again.
